Simmer's Dream

The History of Simmer's Dream started one day towards the end of July 2007. July 21st 2007 would be the exact date in fact. A simmer named EmereldSim decided to make a forum just for simmers to escape the trouble and rudeness of the BBS and come to a place where they wouldn't have to worry about being scoffed at.  At Simmer's Dream its members could vent about their feelings of the BBS, talk about sims, and even possibly have a little off topic.  

One day later BBSer, CheesySimsLover--better known as Cheesy--was surfing the BBS with intentions of advertising her own site. She really didn't plan on joining any other site. She saw the link to Simmer's Dream posted in the Fansites section of the BBS while posting an add for Cheesy Sims 2. She thought, "What the heck? What's it going to hurt to join one more site?" She never had any intentions of becoming active really at Simmer's Dream. It would just be "another site".

A few days later a few more members joined Simmer's Dream. More importantly, two simmers were known as bubblepunk321--AKA Brighty now--and Noextrabone1709--aka Neb, joined Simmer's Dream. For the next three days Brighty, Cheesy, and Neb actively posted on the forum fighting for staff positions they all knew that Emereld would be giving out soon as the forum was growing.

It was a requirement to have 100 posts to become staff. Brighty by far had the most posts with around 400. She was Champion Chatter, which was the highest rank.  So she was basically guaranteed staff.  Cheesy was next in line only about 100 posts under. Neb just barely had over 100 posts.  However when the staff PMs went out only a day after Neb and Brighty joined on July 26th at 9:17pm, the chosen staff were Brighty and Neb. They became global moderators of Simmer's Dream and even set up an e-mail sdgmods@gmail.com. However, the e-mail is no longer used.

The site went on happy for the next couple weeks. Then suddenly Emereld started to feel that she was too busy to be an administrator for a site. She hated to leave the Simmer's Dream members hanging all alone. So she put up an ad in the News and Updates section for a new administrator. Cheesy figured Emereld would still be around and she didn't actually plan on becoming the "main" administrator she just thought this was a perfect opportunity to get on staff which she secretively wanted all along. Well simpettable had been her only competition in the race then simpettable backed down. Cheesy was named the new administrator of Simmer's Dream.

Emereld disappeared for many months. And Cheesy was left in charge. A lot of drama happened at first. The staff had a hard time adjusting to Cheesy as admin and not Emereld as Cheesy did things a lot different than Emereld. But eventually they got used to each other and the forum started to grow daily. For the longest time, when adjusting was taking place the forum didn't grow at all. After all that was over and everyone was cool, the forum began to grow a lot. 

In November Simmer's Dream reached it's 50th member. Simtween997 was the 50th member and boy was she happy. After that the forum rapidly took and started to vibe. In January, just two months later Simmer's Dream received it's 100 member and now in February the site has 178 members. Simmer's Dream is  nearing it's 200th member and has a big celebration for when that happens, which is to keep hush for now.

Simmer's Dream has had many ups and downs when it comes to staff positions. Emereld has returned to us though. Therefore, Brighty and Emereld are the only "original" as of July 26th 2007 staff members left. Neb has been in and out. He has many personal things going on in his life that causes him to keep leaving us. Simpettable also joined the staff for awhile but was no longer able to be staff for many reasons. Then lsweets18 joined us. She also had personal issues where she had to leave the site completely. Then a member Jay joined our staff. He too get really busy in his personal life and had to resign. At this point it seemed the staff position "Global Moderator" was a doom sentence as all these staff members had been global mods. Vampy then joined our staff as a moderator in December. Simmer's Dream went without a global moderator for the longest time. In January Smilie joined our staff also as a moderator. We then had the courage to promote Smilie to Global Moderator. She is very helpful and does more than any of you could ever imagine for the site. Just this February, Mal was added to our staff. She has been very helpful so far as well. Neb has been a site advisor for the last month but he is very busy as it seems now.

Simmer's Dream tries to make the member's experience as fun as possible while surfing our forum. There is always chat in the c-box going on and when possible we chat in our little Add-On Chat.
